Congress Needs to Step Up for Sudan

Tell your Members of Congress to help end the genocide and other atrocities in Sudan.

Sudan is facing a severe humanitarian crisis due to ongoing conflicts between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The fighting, which began in April 2023, has resulted in widespread displacement, food insecurity, and human rights violations.

There is growing evidence that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militias have committed atrocities, including those that amount to genocide, against the Masalit people and other non-Arab ethnic groups in Darfur.

Tell your Members of Congress to support and co-sponsor resolutions that address the crisis in Sudan. Introduced in the Senate (S. Res. 559) and the House (H. Res. 1328) both resolutions recognize the actions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militia in Darfur, Sudan, as acts of genocide against non-Arab ethnic communities. The resolutions also:

  • Condemn these atrocities
  • Call for accountability through national and international mechanisms
  • Urge increased humanitarian support for victims
  • Emphasize the need for preventive measures against future genocides
  • Promote international cooperation to address the root causes of the conflict in Darfur and ensure lasting peace and stability

Please take action today to call on your U.S. senators and U.S. representative to co-sponsor and pass these important resolutions.
